[18:15]  Lyndon Heart: I've got 20 musicians notecards in my inventory who have stated that they are coming for certain. Other who plan to attend are are waiting to see if there will be any compensation toward their registration or room fees.

[18:17]  Lyndon Heart: I was under the impression that the hotel might have had some restrictions about what audio systems and sound reinforcement could be used in their facility

[18:17]  Cylindrian Rutabaga: that was my understanding too....we also haven't heard back regarding how long we can use the performance rooms we've requested fro friday and saturday nights

[18:18]  Lyndon Heart: I have been unable to move on this until further information is given
[18:18]  Apple MacKay: we need exactly what the schedule of performances is going to be

[18:20]  Lyndon Heart: if people like Mankind, Max, Harper are going to show that puts us at arounf 25 musicians

[18:20]  Apple MacKay: what about the music rental places we were checking out
[18:20]  Cylindrian Rutabaga: we need to know how long we can use the performance rooms so we can schedule performers. the original idea was 30 min sets.....but if we're restricted on time...ie...we must be finished by 11pm or midnight we need to start earlier.

[18:21]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: so the way the set up with the hotel works evidently is that Swank is their authorized audio/video tech services vendor of the hotel

[18:21]  EvaMoon Ember: Bosco said he was going to montreal at his show the other day.
[18:22]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: and not that it is impossible to go around them, it is just that it will incur fees anyway.. so...
[18:22]  Apple MacKay: can we supplement their stuff?
[18:22]  Cylindrian Rutabaga: Swank.....this is the first i've heard of them
[18:22]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: the first set of needs Nexeus passed off to them were more the basics and then Peter, Misty and I went through your proposal and made up a here is what we need for music focused spaces equipment wise
[18:23]  Lyndon Heart: Sawnk will charge the hotel for our supplying sound equipment?
[18:23]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: and Nexeus handed that off to them as far as I know this week
[18:23]  Apple MacKay: those spaces have to be a part of the conference though
[18:23]  Apple MacKay: thats in the proposal as well
[18:24]  Apple MacKay: not tucked away some where to drown us out
[18:24]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: either way.. yeah.. less of course I would imagine.. or in some cases if we are tying into the existing conference room infrastructurs requiring a tech on duty, etc

[18:24]  Apple MacKay: are we able to have our tech people interact with swank on some level
[18:25]  Edward Lowell: I would certainly hope so
[18:25]  Lyndon Heart: alright .. in closing .. for now ..
[18:25]  Apple MacKay: to determine if they can accomodate us?
[18:25]  Lyndon Heart: so for right now .. I will lean on the stragglers in the next week and get a firm count of heads
[18:25]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: the layout is such tht there is the central Grand Ballroom and a sponsors/vendors area and registration outside of this
[18:25]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: then there are 2 main sets of rooms, one that has 2 larger rooms back to back and the other that has 4 rooms together they are all on the same level
[18:26]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: by small we mean say 100 - 150 and the other 2 larger rooms are about 200 - 300ish
[18:26]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: and the ballroom can hold everyone at once
[18:26]  Nasus Dumart: if we have the room til 11p - that's not so bad. we could consider a dinner concert
[18:27]  Apple MacKay: Rhiannon we aslo requested a vendor table for the musicians to ply their cd's and such group track info etc
[18:27]  SeanMcPherson Senior braves the bandwidth drought a second "We really need ot get someone from Swank and Ed in touch ASAP, I'd think. We need to know HTH we're going ot stream back and forth, and make provisions, etc"

[18:27]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: well streaming is different in a way.. cause Swank would only be handling a hand off if their equipment is being used, etc
[18:28]  Cylindrian Rutabaga: Can Swank accomodate the list we porivded in a sound system?
[18:28]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: the main ball room is where it makes sense for us to concentrate the most tech resources at and so the larger mixed reality performances, keynotes and the event you brought up for Saturday night will be within that space
[18:29]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: hoping on that.. otherwise I would think they would be more leniant on letting us fill in the gaps
[18:29]  Cylindrian Rutabaga: that sounds good to me
[18:29]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: granted we are not going to get rental music equipment, etc
[18:29]  Apple MacKay: and we can have drink service and limited menu service?
[18:29]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: that still has to be sorted by you guys.. basically anything that will be hooked into the soundboards.. but from the soundboards out "in theory' at this point is the conference facilities

[18:30]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: well we have the space til whenever.. just means covering costs of bartenders and if they make us say have a sound tech of theirs on site .. those #'s

[18:31]  SeanMcPherson Senior: Rhiannon: sidenote whenever there's time to answer it, since I'm on such a bad link: sep from sound, who is responsible for the network connectivity there, and how/who do we work with? have we got any kind of info on what bandwidth they have available, and if we can have an out of band line for streaming in world that does NOT have to compete with the rest of the attendees? and if no one knows, who can Ed and I and Bosco get in touch w/ (at either the hotel or SwankAV or whoever else is responsible) about the network side?

[18:32]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: granted.. during the day the ballroom will be basically a best of what needs to fit in that space.. meaning the music track will not be in there the entire time.. like for juggling other mixed reality panels, keynotes, larger parts of the conference.. so there will be overall schedule juggling the entire conference has to for that room

[18:32]  Edward Lowell: The amount of equipment that will be required at any one time depends on what activities we are going to support ....

[18:41]  Rhiannon Chatnoir: so you know... the event on Friday is spurred from the themed communities of Caledon, Babbage, etc and at this point tentatively a steampunk ball where a themed steampunk band they knew will be coming in for that
