[18:04] Nasus Dumart: Welcome to the Guest Lecture Series at Molaskey's Pub!
[18:04] Nasus Dumart: Tonight we continue the SLCC Music Track category in The Guest Lecture Series, which features the live performers and organizers of the SLCC Music Track.
[18:04] Nasus Dumart: This year's SLCC is scheduled for August 13-16 at the St. Francis Hotel in beautiful San Francisco.
[18:04] Nasus Dumart: For those of you unable to attend the events in RL, we are working with the convention leaders to provide a SL destination for avatars to attend - details will be posted as we have them.)
[18:05] Nasus Dumart: The Guest Lecture Series - The SLCC Music Track was created to generate awareness about the strong music community in Second Life, which is prominently featured in this year's Second Life Community Convention.
[18:05] Nasus Dumart: We will discuss what it takes to perform in the virtual world and WHY today's musicians and live performers should consider this performance medium as a part of their repertoire.
[18:05] Nasus Dumart: This will be a type-chat event. I will ask the audience to refrain from room chat until your host and Lecturer have completed their presentations.
[18:06] Nasus Dumart: At that time, the audience will be encouraged to participate in a period of Questions and Answers.
[18:06] Nasus Dumart: TIP: prepare your questions on a note card and then copy and paste them into chat at the appropriate time.
[18:06] Grace McDunnough: (only if you are good)
[18:06] Nasus Dumart: ;)
[18:06] Nasus Dumart: This transcript, including audience participation, will be made available on http://Molaskeys-Pub.com immediately following the lecture. - or whenever Apple MacKay gets around to it.
[18:06] Nasus Dumart: Please use this time to invite others to join you. You may offer this SLurl as a landing spot - http://tiny.cc/MolaskeysPubSLurl
[18:07] Nasus Dumart: If you are taking any snapshots of tonight's event, please share them with the Molaskey's Pub Group on Flickr at http://tiny.cc/AULDo
[18:07] Nasus Dumart: OK, Let's continue...
[18:07] Nasus Dumart: When writing 'The Unofficial Guide to Building the Second life Virtual World', I shared a story about my first experience with live music in the virtual world in a section titled 'Hello Out There In Virtual Land' (Chapter 1, page 6).
[18:07] Nasus Dumart: Quite literally, I was stunned off my seat after hearing a performer simply say my avatar name in real time, welcoming me to their show.
[18:08] Nasus Dumart: That's when it occurred to me that virtual worlds take us in a whole new direction of performance and online media.
[18:08] Nasus Dumart: That's when I took SL more seriously, too.
[18:08] Nasus Dumart: I had that same stunning experience recently, watching 'Musimmersion'.
[18:08] Nasus Dumart: This time, it wasn't simply interaction with the performer, it was with the environment of the performance.
[18:08] Nasus Dumart: 'Musimmersion' has raised the bar with performance art.
[18:09] Nasus Dumart: With set changes in the flash of an eye, where the audience is incorporated into each magnificent setting in tune with each song, it is something NOT to be missed.
[18:09] Nasus Dumart: The upcoming 5th Annual Second Life Community Convention is scheduled for August 13-16 in San Francisco.
[18:09] Nasus Dumart: Grace McDunnough is schedule as one of the panel speakers and live performers. Although Grace will not be joining us in San Francisco, she is able to participate remotely.
[18:09] Nasus Dumart: Her SLCC appearances will be streamed entirely from Second Life.
[18:10] Nasus Dumart: Grace McDunnough is one of the most visionary musicians I have the great honor of becoming familiar with in my nearly three years in SL.
[18:10] Nasus Dumart: She is not only a talented musician, 3D builder, performance art producer and friend to many, she keeps a great blog, as well ( http://phasinggrace.blogspot.com ).
[18:10] Nasus Dumart: Grace writes about her observations of 3D life online.
[18:10] Nasus Dumart: She discusses 'Social Architecture' and other 'big picture' topics, along with some hot topics of the 'here and now'.
[18:11] Nasus Dumart: Although Grace has regular SL gigs around SL, specifically at 'Heron Island' and 'The SLip', 'Musimmersion' is produced exclusively on the 'Blank Canvas' sim, owned by the honorable SeanMcPherson Senior. :)
[18:11] Nasus Dumart: Aside from Second Life and http://phasinggrace.blogspot.com , you can also find Grace McDunnough on Reverbnation, thesixtyone, Facebook, MySpace, flickr and Metaplace.
[18:11] Nasus Dumart: Please welcome SLCC featured artist, 'Musimmersion' creator and Metaverse traveller, the lovely Grace McDunnough :)
[18:11] Nasus Dumart: (Big Applause)
[18:11] Apple MacKay: yay
[18:11] Nasus Dumart: ♪♫♥ Cheers!! ♥♫♪
[18:12] Poid Mahovlich: Claps
[18:12] Grace McDunnough: Wow, thanks Nasus.
[18:12] Nasus Dumart: :)
[18:12] Grace McDunnough: I'm .. . nervous, Where should we start?
[18:13] Apple MacKay: at the beginning?
[18:13] Nasus Dumart: :) well - tell us about your beginnings
[18:13] Nasus Dumart: and how you got to where you are now
[18:13] Nasus Dumart: and tell us what you are working on.
[18:13] Grace McDunnough: Okay, hang on this will get rocky.
[18:13] Grace McDunnough: I discovered Second Life while researching
new product ideas in 2005 and stayed briefly then to make a cursory
assessment and frankly was underwhelmed. I came back in 2006 to have
another look because I was intrigued by user-created content rights and
the virtual economy and Grace was born, er rezzed.
[18:14] Nasus Dumart nods
[18:14] Grace McDunnough: In other words, I didn't know there was live music here. :)
[18:14] Grace McDunnough: So that's how I discovered Second Life, but
I didn't realize it could be a creative outlet until I got to the point
of "Okay, what's there to do in here other than accessorize your avatar
and talk to people?".
[18:14] Nasus Dumart: right.
[18:14] Grace McDunnough: The first thing I was drawn to was poetry
readings and I stumbled into Mill Pond. I led weekly poetry readings
there and I even had a poetry gallery where people could come read my
poetry and share their own. Two of my original songs are derived from
poems that people shared with me.
[18:14] Grace McDunnough: I also discovered live music at Mill Pond
and a friend helped me with the set up and endured my melt downs as I
learned to overcome my stage fright and finally get on mic in Nov 2006.
[18:15] Grace McDunnough: Oh right, I have debilitating stage fright :)
[18:15] Nasus Dumart: interesting!
[18:15] Grace McDunnough: Initially I performed only at Mill Pond, but
over time my confidence grew and since I'm insatiably curious I started
performing other places around the grid until I landed at Salome
Strangelove's Freudian Slip and then Carter Liveoak and Gillian
Carthage's Heron Island Performance Space - both are still my musical
home.
[18:15] Grace McDunnough: Then Salome started writing these amazing
lyrics and I became addicted to our collaborations ... I think an
intervention may be warranted at some point.
[18:16] Nasus Dumart smiles.
[18:16] Grace McDunnough: I mentioned Mill Pond because that was my
first deep connection with a community of people - that's where and how
I met some of my dearest friends in world.
[18:16] Grace McDunnough: Friends, who after two years, still come to
listen to me "graceify" some random song and are infintely supportive
when I introduce a new original. No musician can make it here with
support, and I am truly blessed in that regard.
[18:16] Grace McDunnough looks around -- like all of these folks staring at me.
[18:16] Nasus Dumart grins
[18:16] Grace McDunnough: Who can't talk
[18:16] Grace McDunnough: And it's cracking me up
[18:16] Nasus Dumart: lol
[18:17] Nasus Dumart: nope - I gave them orders!
[18:17] Nasus Dumart: they'll have their turn.
[18:17] Grace McDunnough: So right ... but is the true SL discovery -
it's the people, the connections, the relationships, the places and
experiences - these are the elements that make this such a special
place and allow me to share what has grown to become my music. They are
also what drives me to do the big projects I do like the Mill Pond Fok
Festival and now two productions of Musimmersion.
[18:17] Grace McDunnough: I should tell you a little about the Folk Festival
[18:18] Nasus Dumart: yes - indeed!
[18:18] Grace McDunnough:
http://phasinggrace.blogspot.com/2007/06/virtual-collaboration-real-results.html
there's a link to the story, but ...
[18:18] Grace McDunnough: The MPFF was an enormous undertaking at the
time, and still would be considered a huge event. We hosted 15 hours of
art and live music on 3 stages across 2 sims, with over 50 musicians
from 6 countries .
[18:18] Grace McDunnough: One stage was wholly dedicated to musicians
from Montreal, Canada never heard in Second Life (and most never heard
again sadly).
[18:18] Grace McDunnough: We had 1553 unique visitors in total over the course of 2 days, an average of 103 listeners per hour.
[18:18] Nasus Dumart: wow.
[18:18] Grace McDunnough: I think by all accounts it was a great success and I learned a few things:
[18:18] Grace McDunnough: 1) You can never have "too much help"
[18:19] Molaskey's Pub Donation Jar: We still need to meet our goal of
L$36600 this month, to help pay for the musicians and the streaming.
Please consider donating to help us out!
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: 2) People - not technology - are the foundation of Second Life, and
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: 3) You can not truly appreciate the power,
inspiration and transformative nature of this platform unless you spend
some time here actually *doing* something, anything.
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: And that led me to Musimmersion
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: Often inspiration comes out of frustration and this was also true with Musimmersion.
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: I've lost track of how many gigs I've played
in virtual world(s) but over time between bookings, facilities,
promotions and technical difficulties it can get frustrating, and after
a while your heart starts to tell you that you have to do more, do
something new, or just do something else. That's where I was stuck
after performing for a year.
[18:19] Grace McDunnough: I wanted to do something evocative.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: I wanted to change the way we thought about
live music, so that it felt like an adventure rather than a predictable
one hour block of time.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: I wanted to give something back to the
people who came to listen to me week after week, and I wanted to see if
there was a way for me to share music through imagery and space.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: And, I really wanted to leverage what I
consider the best parts of Second Life - people, place, and presence.
So Musimmersion was born.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: I think of Musimmersion as a live music journey.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: It's grounded in my belief that music is
actually a transport vehicle and that the places you go, the things
that you see and feel, and the people you are with, all shape your
connection with the music as much as the lyrics and melody.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: To me, music tells a story and the best stories are ones where you are really there.
[18:20] Grace McDunnough: Do you know that feeling when you hear a
song on the radio and you are transported back to a place, a time, an
experience?
[18:21] Nasus Dumart nods
[18:21] Grace McDunnough: That is what I try to evoke with
Musimmersion; I get to take you to a place visually and shape your
experience with my music in a new way.
[18:21] Grace McDunnough: It makes you .. remember, and feel,
[18:21] Grace McDunnough: and be a part of the music, not just an adjunct.
[18:22] Grace McDunnough: It's hard to explain to people.
[18:22] Grace McDunnough: And I think that's a bummer, because it's so hard to advertise, get out the word, etc
[18:23] Grace McDunnough: The concept is deadly simple if you think about it.
[18:23] Grace McDunnough: Yet, somehow I think the experiences is larger than the plain description.
[18:23] Grace McDunnough: And that is exactly the point :)
[18:24] Nasus Dumart: :)
[18:24] Nasus Dumart: Let's have a show of hands - who has seen Musimmersion so far?
[18:24] Nasus Dumart: lol
[18:24] Apple MacKay raises hand
[18:24] Crap Mariner: arf
[18:24] Grace McDunnough: lol show of hands
[18:24] milady Guillaume: me me me..
[18:24] Nasus Dumart raises hand
[18:24] Noelani Lightfoot raises her hand
[18:24] Shellie Sands: 3 timjes!
[18:24] Joonie Jatho shows her hand
[18:24] Katrina Pugilist puts up both hands for more than once
[18:25] Liz Gealach: hand up
[18:25] Magnus Silverstar sw the first one
[18:25] Feline Slade raises hand
[18:25] Lyndzay Meili raises hand
[18:25] gwampa Lomu: hand
[18:25] gwampa Lomu: both hands
[18:25] Salome Strangelove raises both hands and one leg
[18:25] Nasus Dumart: lol
[18:25] katy Ballyhoo me too
[18:25] Thadicus Caligari: both hands and a foot
[18:25] Nasus Dumart: well - those who have experienced it may be able
to appreciate it - but you're right - explaining it is hard
[18:26] Nasus Dumart: especially to anyone that is not familiar with the possibilities of performance art in SL
[18:26] Grace McDunnough nods
[18:26] Nasus Dumart: Have you produced anything on YouTube?
[18:26] Grace McDunnough: No, fortuately there are people far more gifted than I that have though
[18:27] Grace McDunnough: I should have a link here somewhere (peeks into the depths of...)
[18:27] Nasus Dumart: How many shows of Musimmersion do you do a month?
[18:27] Salome Strangelove: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2KjS0BJoDY
[18:27] Nasus Dumart: oo - thanks, Sal!
[18:28] Nasus Dumart tosses Sal a treat for good behavior.
[18:28] Grace McDunnough: I was doing them every Thursday but I will
pick up the schedule closer to SLCC and run through Labor Day weekend
[18:28] Nasus Dumart: excellent.
[18:28] Grace McDunnough: I will have weekend shows and more EU friendly times as well
[18:28] Nasus Dumart: important detail - yes - our EU friends.
[18:29] Grace McDunnough: And no one wants to hear me sing on Asia time, trust me
[18:29] Nasus Dumart: hahahah
[18:29] Nasus Dumart: Ok, let's open up the Q&A to the audience ~
[18:29] Grace McDunnough: Do we have to?
[18:29] Nasus Dumart: lol - I promised them.
[18:29] Thadicus Caligari: good Sal is turning blue
[18:29] GoSpeed Racer laughs
[18:29] Nasus Dumart laughs
[18:29] Noelani Lightfoot smirks
[18:29] Grace McDunnough waits
[18:30] Crap Mariner: QUESTION: Why the name "Grace" ? What does it mean to you?
[18:30] Grace McDunnough: Ah, right so an interesting tidbit ... I actually reserached my name before taking it
[18:30] Nasus Dumart: QUESTION: Why the name 'Crap'? What does it mean to you?
[18:30] Grace McDunnough: er researched
[18:30] Nasus Dumart: jk
[18:31] Grace McDunnough: I am of Irish heritage, and I'd recently
finished reading books about how the Irish saved Civilization
[18:31] Nasus Dumart: Interesting - I appreciate SL names that have deeper meaning.
[18:31] Grace McDunnough: And .. about Gráinne Ní Mháille
[18:31] Grace McDunnough coughs .. yes, a pirate lass
[18:31] Nasus Dumart: oooo
[18:32] Grace McDunnough: So Grace it was and there was no Grace McDunnough that I could find via Google
[18:32] Apple MacKay: lat week Lyndon Heart was on and also spoke
about collaboration with other songwriters... do you fell this medium
encourages that or does that just happen to be running into the right
people at the right time in the right place? (coincidently with the
same collaborator)
[18:32] Grace McDunnough: Now there is a Grace McDonough ;-)
[18:33] Grace McDunnough: Oh, I think this platform actually stimulates collaboration
[18:33] Grace McDunnough: And I've collaborated with poets (Okay I
stole their words) and other musicians (okay, they stole my tracks)
[18:33] Nasus Dumart smiles
[18:34] Grace McDunnough: Toby Lancaster is a brilliant composer and producer
[18:34] Grace McDunnough: He mixed three of my favorite originals
[18:34] Grace McDunnough: And oh by the way, Wish For You is available for download from the Reverbnation site
[18:35] Nasus Dumart makes note
[18:35] Grace McDunnough: I don't believe in coincidence Apple
[18:35] Grace McDunnough: Things happen, if you are paying attention ..
[18:36] Grace McDunnough: they work out, and if you don't you just miss opportunities.
[18:36] Grace McDunnough: Zha do you have a note
[18:36] Nasus Dumart: for being late?
[18:36] Grace McDunnough: Yes
[18:36] Zha Ewry checks
[18:36] Grace McDunnough grins
[18:36] Zha Ewry: "C flat?"
[18:36] Grace McDunnough: Oh ouch
[18:36] Nasus Dumart: lol
[18:36] Salome Strangelove smirks
[18:36] GoSpeed Racer hands Zha a hall pass
[18:37] Grace McDunnough: moar questions
[18:37] Zha Ewry examines it
[18:37] Thadicus Caligari: G#
[18:37] Zha Ewry: "Thomas Jefferson School for wayward girls?"
[18:37] GoSpeed Racer: ( signed "Epstein's Mpther")
[18:37] GoSpeed Racer: MOther
[18:37] Nasus Dumart: Did you build all of the Musimmersion sets?
[18:38] Grace McDunnough: No - let's see on the first one I did 7 of the 10
[18:38] milady Guillaume: Do you feel, Grace that performing here in SL has helped your stage fright in your first life?
[18:38] Grace McDunnough: Gillian Carter, Paddy Wright and Carter
Liveoak did one and Almathea Blanc did one .. oh, I did 8 of 10
[18:38] Nasus Dumart: and has anyone tried to do their own version of Musimmersion?
[18:38] Nasus Dumart: yet?
[18:38] Grace McDunnough: One sec milday ... and on this one Salome did Plain Jane and I did the others
[18:39] Grace McDunnough: Stage fright ... in SL I have overcome it mostly. Some days I still lose it
[18:39] Grace McDunnough: in RL, forget about it, I'm still immobilized
[18:39] Noelani Lightfoot: So you get the lyrics, and the peoms, what
is the actual process that brings them to life? Or how do you end up
putting them to music?
[18:40] Noelani Lightfoot: *or poems
[18:40] Grace McDunnough: Komuso and ...shoot what was hi name Crap? did an immersive music experience
[18:40] Crap Mariner: MoShang?
[18:40] Crap Mariner: Hathead?
[18:40] Grace McDunnough: Moshang, thank you
[18:40] Salome Strangelove: That was the light thing?
[18:41] Grace McDunnough: It was particles - yes - in a static set
[18:41] Grace McDunnough: It was very interesting, but also very different
[18:41] Crap Mariner: http://www.flickr.com/photos/isfullofcrap/2176538243/
[18:41] Nasus Dumart: Thanks Crap
[18:41] Grace McDunnough: Words to music ... that's magic to me
[18:41] Nasus Dumart tosses Crap a treat.
[18:41] Crap Mariner: arf
[18:42] Grace McDunnough: I see the words, I let them sink in, then one day I pick up the guitar and the music comes
[18:42] Grace McDunnough: It's almost - I know this sounds creepy - out of body
[18:42] Apple MacKay: how long have you been playing guitar?
[18:42] Salome Strangelove: Don't let her get away with that Nasus - she also tinkers.
[18:42] Nasus Dumart: :)
[18:43] Zha Ewry: And if you've heard her play a new one, tinkers on and off with exact phrasing of some sectoins for weeks
[18:43] Grace McDunnough: I taught myself to play when I was ~ 10 but
I had a, um, RL mishap ... and didn't really pick up the guitar again
until 2006 - in here
[18:43] Apple MacKay: I thought I remember hearing you say you never really played live before SL
[18:43] Nasus Dumart: Everyone seems to know your style and rhythm, Grace.
[18:43] Grace McDunnough: I have never played live before SL EXCEPT for one time
[18:44] Grace McDunnough: I was 10, I was playing a song I wrote for church
[18:44] Magnus Silverstar: /how often do you perform in RL nowadays?
[18:44] Grace McDunnough: I was in front of the entire congregation and forgot the words
[18:44] Nasus Dumart: awwww.
[18:44] Grace McDunnough laughs
[18:44] Zha Ewry: Ouch
[18:44] Grace McDunnough: it was TRAGIC I tell you
[18:45] Nasus Dumart: I am sure you were instantly forgiven.
[18:45] Katydid Something: and the beginning of the stagefreight I'm sure!
[18:45] Thadicus Caligari: but not uncommon at that age. BTDT
[18:45] Salome Strangelove: Can you explain how you seperate the
entity that is Grace from the RL you and how it applies to the way you
identify with your music?
[18:45] Nasus Dumart: Nice knowing you.
[18:45] Grace McDunnough: Indeed
[18:46] Grace McDunnough: Okay I missed one
[18:46] Grace McDunnough: Magnus
[18:46] Grace McDunnough: how often do you perform in RL nowadays? Every time I play in SL, it IS RL@!
[18:46] Grace McDunnough winks
[18:46] Magnus Silverstar grins
[18:47] Grace McDunnough: Salome, no. Next!
[18:47] Nasus Dumart: LOL
[18:47] Noelani Lightfoot snorts a bit
[18:47] Grace McDunnough: Grace is the part of me I don't get to live day to day
[18:47] Thadicus Caligari: guess that kills my question
[18:47] Grace McDunnough: Grace is me, it's just not the part many people *get* to see, I suppose
[18:48] Grace McDunnough: So my music is so very personal, it's me ..
[18:48] katy Ballyhoo: so you are essentially the musician in sl that you can't be in rl?
[18:48] Grace McDunnough: I can't just "phone it in", I have to be there 100%
[18:48] Grace McDunnough: Yes katy
[18:49] Apple MacKay: Nas will brb... she just crashed
[18:49] Grace McDunnough: Did that just depress everyone or what
[18:49] Grace McDunnough: LOL Nasus left us
[18:49] Thadicus Caligari: no room monitor now
[18:49] Grace McDunnough: room chat for everyone!
[18:50] milady Guillaume: ooo the kids can play now!! the teacher is gone!!
[18:50] Katydid Something: LOL!
[18:50] Zha Ewry: Ohh. Too quick.
[18:50] milady Guillaume: oops.. hope she didn't see that
[18:50] Grace McDunnough: She's fast
[18:50] Grace McDunnough: Welcome back
[18:50] Apple MacKay: Question: have you ever crashed during a performance?
[18:50] Nasus Dumart: I heard that, milady!
[18:50] Grace McDunnough: Yes Apple - several times
[18:50] milady Guillaume: *winks* :)
[18:50] Grace McDunnough: Crashed me, crashed sims, crashed the stream
[18:50] Katydid Something: part of our SL life!
[18:51] Zha Ewry: And spent what, 2 weeks fighting your cable modem?
[18:51] Nasus Dumart: I'm running on an old Mac
[18:51] Grace McDunnough: Yes that stupid modem
[18:51] Grace McDunnough: That actually ended up being a comcast issue with unreliable upload BW
[18:52] Grace McDunnough: as in, no upload bw
[18:52] Grace McDunnough: LOL
[18:52] Salome Strangelove: Can we make her tell us the name of the application she uses to broadcast into SL?
[18:52] Apple MacKay: they were most likely traffic shaping your connection and killing it because it looked suspcious
[18:52] Zha Ewry: You soldiiered on in the face of that with remarkable stubborness, too.
[18:52] Grace McDunnough: I use BUTT to stream into SL, so there
[18:53] Apple MacKay hated comcast when I had it
[18:53] Grace McDunnough nods at Apple
[18:53] Katydid Something: I know that one!
[18:53] Thadicus Caligari: BUTT?
[18:53] Grace McDunnough: Broadcast Using This Tool
[18:53] Grace McDunnough: it's dreamy
[18:53] Thadicus Caligari: On a Mac?
[18:53] Grace McDunnough: No on a PC
[18:53] Salome Strangelove: http://butt.sourceforge.net/
[18:54] Nasus Dumart: Thanks Sal.
[18:54] Nasus Dumart tosses treat
[18:54] Thadicus Caligari: thanks, always like new streaming tools
[18:54] Grace McDunnough: Is milady a scary little clown or am I having a bad dream?
[18:54] Shellie Sands: Gotta fly kids! Great stuff! Grace I will speak with you separately :)
[18:54] katy Ballyhoo: how much does living in GA contribute to your choice of songs
[18:54] Salome Strangelove: no, she's a creepy little clown
[18:54] milady Guillaume: *winks* a bad dream baby!! ;)
[18:54] Nasus Dumart: Thanks for coming Shellie!
[18:54] Katydid Something: Bye Shellie!
[18:54] Zha Ewry: Is the asnwer "both" accceptable Grace?
[18:54] Shellie Sands: My pleasure Nasus
[18:54] Shellie Sands: Bye All!
[18:55] Grace McDunnough: I live in Decatur and here we have a fantastic live music scene
[18:55] Grace McDunnough: So I'd say this area, rather than GA influences me
[18:55] Apple MacKay: are you playing RL gigs now?
[18:55] Grace McDunnough: No, O.o
[18:55] Nasus Dumart: rofl
[18:55] Apple MacKay: that was what 10 years ago?
[18:56] Apple MacKay: ;)
[18:56] Grace McDunnough: I was 10, so yes .. 10 years ago
[18:56] Nasus Dumart: :)
[18:57] Salome Strangelove: Well, most musicians use SL as a means to
promote their existing music, but for Grace SL is the format and
catalyst that gave birth to her music, so it tends to be hard for
people to absorb.
[18:57] Thadicus Caligari: Grace is being backwards
[18:57] Grace McDunnough: Very true, Sal. WIthout SL my musician would still be dormant
[18:57] Grace McDunnough: It's my trademark style, Thad
[18:57] Thadicus Caligari: not in a bad way, just reverse of the norm
[18:58] Nasus Dumart: Do you post your shows to Live Music Enthusiasts - or just to your groups and friends in SL?
[18:58] Nasus Dumart: and - do you have a manager in SL?
[18:58] Nasus Dumart: (you seem pretty organized on your own)
[18:58] Grace McDunnough: I used to use the music groups, but now
communications are so horriibly a mess I don't but occasionally
[18:58] Grace McDunnough: I don't have a manager, I would never subject someone to that terror
[18:58] Nasus Dumart smiles
[18:59] Grace McDunnough: However
[18:59] Grace McDunnough: There are more than a few people that keep me out of trouble
[18:59] Grace McDunnough: (for the most part)
[18:59] Nasus Dumart: :)
[18:59] Zha Ewry is glad for the qualification there
[18:59] katy Ballyhoo: are you a blonde in rl?
[18:59] Grace McDunnough: Noe, Sal and Sean have been the supre trio on Musimmeriosn
[18:59] Katrina Pugilist: After this musimmersion do you have more cool ideas? another version or something new again?
[18:59] Grace McDunnough: I am not a blonde, wench
[19:00] katy Ballyhoo: grin
[19:00] Nasus Dumart: rofl

[19:02] Nasus Dumart: We are at the top of the hour - does anyone have more to add?
[19:02] Thadicus Caligari: she is hot as a brunette though
[19:02] Grace McDunnough: We try to cage them, but that never works

[19:03] Nasus Dumart: nice.
[19:03] Thadicus Caligari: yes we have a group of people adicted to Santa Baby.
[19:03] Salome Strangelove: Do you still find SL to be as
inspirational a format as when you began, or do you find the format
more limiting in terms of evolving creativity?
[19:03] Magnus Silverstar: /huntil when do you plan to perform Musimmersion 2? Haven't had the chance...
[19:03] Grace McDunnough: When I began I was overwhelmed and reactionary, now I'm more proactive
