Backgammon Rules Supreme
Tuesday, 16 October 2007 07:37
The Wednesday, Oct 9 session was interesting and fun. We had a total of three Lamorna backgammon tables out at once! Nasus and Apple played a friendly game on the patio while McHarry 'Captain' Hax faced off against Al Supercharge and Mr. Jimpsky Rhode played Gilly Gully.
We decided to go with a Crawford game where the first player to score three points wins the match. With two tables going, it was decided that the winners from the two tables would face off to determine the grand winner. In the Al vs. Captain game, Al won three straight games, giving him the win for that table. Gilly won the first game against Mr. Jimpsky but in the second game he activated the doubling cube, giving him two points for the second game. The third game was also won by Mr. Jimpsky, giving him three points to win the match. In the final game, Al faced off against Mr. Jimpsky for a hard fought, drawn out game.
The final winner was Al Supercharge. Unfortunately, he left the Pub amid some controversy and left before the prize could be awarded. Molaskeys has attempted to IM Al Supercharge to try and find out what exactly happened. (check here for an update). Join us this Wednesday as we play head-to-head backgammon under a slightly revised tournament schedule.
Guaranteed two tables will be available with a possible third table so we can accommodate six challengers! See you all there!
