Monday, September 17, 2007 - Bonfire Beach, Molaskey's Pub, Wichi, SL
The Capos Calderwood show Monday night will go down in Pub history as 'one of the most defining performances of the year'. As Capos entertained us from Bandshell Stage with his personality and music, nearly two dozen visitors danced on the beach and sang along to familiar songs.
An unlikely couple of hecklers got our attention on voice and stage. Apple MacKay promptly 'gave them the boot', forever banning them from the Pub. A few minutes later, without notice, all but two sitting avatars were 'blown away like leaves' from the beach, landing several sims away. Many found themselves on the ocean floor.
As everyone re-grouped on Bonfire Beach, rumors blamed the disgruntled hecklers for what appeared to be a hostile act. In fact, what happened was not a hostile act, rather friendly fire and pure coincidence.
Long time neighbors in Wichi, CyanAura Femto and Lyric Alexander, owners of nearby Cylaria's Garden, were experimenting with items in their inventory. Not realizing the power they had, they set it off a virtual nuclear weapon, blowing over 20 avatars far out of Wichi. They apologized profusely. The coincidence was that it happened during the Capos Calderwood performance following the hecklers.
Through it all, the consumate professional musician, Capos Calderwood, strummed his guitar and sang his songs without missing a note. We invited everyone to gather around the bonfire for the second half of the show, where Capos impressed us with his ability to adapt to unexpected situations. Whether we refer to real-life situations or Second Life situations, the ability to adapt and go on defines our ability to enjoy more of life, even if, on occassion, life blows us away.
