On the last Molaksey’s Pub 'Games Night' of 2007, we started off on Backgammon with Spencer Dharnen playing Squabbit Dagger.  Spencer took an early lead but Squabbit made a fast comeback to make it a very close game.  The outcome came down to the last piece on the board with Spencer taking the first game.

Chester Cournoyer challenged Spencer next on Backgammon while Gilly and Squabbit played the old checkers game for fun.  Spencer and Squabbit were both the winners of their games.  Next up to play Spencer on Backgammon was Gilly, which Spencer won handily.

Near the end of the evening, Kamerin Kokorin stopped by, in time for one last game against Spencer.   After a close, well played game, Kamerin took the last win of the night, breaking Spencer’s evening long streak.  Overall, Spencer Dharnen won $300L and Kamerin Kokorin came away with $100L.

After the Christmas and New Year’s break, we started up again on January 2nd.  Chester Cournoyer had been busy over the holidays and procured several more playing board for Games Night.   There is also a simple deck of cards out on the patio table by the stage.  Simply click on it to get instructions on how to play a few friendly card games with your friends.

We started the first night back with a crowd.  Squabbit Dagger, Spencer Dharnen, Mr. Jimpsky Rhode, OuchItsA Paine, Posableman Hold, GordonPym Lok, Chester C. and Gilly G. were all present to kick off Games Night.

Ouch took on Squabbit on the first Backgammon table while Mr. Jimpsky and Spencer sat down at the second table.  Ouch and Spencer were both winners for the first round.  M2 Oh then taught GordonPym how to play on the first table while Ouch took on Spencer on table two.  Gordon learned fast but beginners luck didn’t strike in his first ever backgammon game.

On table two, Spencer was the winner against Ouch.  Chester sat down to challenge him next but after two more wins, Spencer remained our current Molaskey’s Pub Backgammon champion.  Total prizes awarded for the evening are OuchItsA Paine $100L, M2 Oh $100L and Spencer Dharnen $400L.  Congratulations to this week’s winners.

It was great to see some new players as well as some familiar av’s!  We now can place three backgammon tables out to accommodate our growing Games Night regulars.  We’re still looking for some regular chess players and new Lamorna Checkers table is available as well.

These games are all available and free to use for Molaskey’s guests at any time. You’ll find the Chess table down the alley from the patio, near the front of the Pub and the Backgammon, Checkers and Card Deck on the patio out back.  Please enjoy them and we’ll be firing up the next Games Night competition on Wednesday, Jan 9th at 8:00pm slt.
