'Scilands' is a virtual continent in Second Life® where science and education-based organizations welcome visitors to explore and learn using interactive displays. Visitors learn about biology, space, weather, the atmosphere, genes, cell structures and more. Some of the notable participants in 'Scilands in SecondLife®' include Nasa, JPL, Exploratorium and Tech Museum of Innovation. You will find several Universities and science organizations in the
group charter. Elon University, for one, boasts 'home of the Apollo 11
Moon Sim', the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
is experimenting with atmospheric conditions in a virtual environment. Plan a virtual field trip for your class or organization! This is a PG-Rated sim and is open 24/7.
